Dan Learn

Dana Merle Learn passed peacefully to heaven after a sudden brain aneurysm.  He was surrounded at death by the love of his family and friends. Dan lived a very happy life and was known for his hearty and infectious laugh. He grew up and lived in Corralitos on the family property and graduated from Aptos HS in 1976.

Dan attended Corralitos Community Church where he sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, and passed out candy before service –  being affectionately referred to as ‘the Candy Man’.

Dan worked for many years in the construction field.  He loved to garden, fish and camp with his brothers, nephews and friends. He was also a huge SF Giants and Oakland Raiders fan.

Dan was preceded in death by his father Bob Learn.

He is survived by his mother, Melba Learn, sister Kandy (Ron) Bonnema and brothers Rob Learn and Martin (Tamara) Learn. 

Dan was known as ‘Uncle Dude’ to Scott (Lani) Almand, Kassi (John) Van Lanen, Kori (Kevin) Berti, Joe and Jimmy Bonnema, Ashley (Tyler) Lashley, Caylee, Keegan, Emily, Molly and Joe (Kiana) Learn as well as 10 great nieces and nephews.

He is also survived by Aunt Darlene Woodburn and Uncle Tom (Mary) Wisdom, cousins: Steve, Gary, Ron, Rick and David Aylard and Kevin and Kyle Wisdom.

Memorial service to be held January 4, 2014 at 11am at the Corralitos Community Church, 26 Browns Valley Rd, Corralitos, CA  95076 with a BBQ lunch to follow.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to: Corralitos Community Church or Hospice
