WATSONVILLE — Genaro Corpus died at Watsonville Community Hospital surrounded by his loved ones on Wednesday, June 12, 2013. He was 56.
Mr. Corpus was born to Genaro and Agustina Corpus in San Pedro Coahuila, Mexico. He was an active advocate to the Cesar Chavez Union. He was a hard worker; working in agriculture for many years and then as a construction worker. He also liked to fix cars on his spare time. He had a kind heart and would help others when in need. Mr. Corpus enjoyed so much being with his grandchildren and listening to music especially Carlos Santana and Juan Gabriel. He loved Santana’s music so much that he named his son after him.
He is survived by his son, Carlos Corpus; and daughter: Christina Reyes; six grandchildren; brothers, Antonio, Enrique and Eduardo Corpus; sisters, Teresa, Dolores and Lupe Corpus. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Irene Moreno and Bertha Corpus.
Visitation will be held at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel on Sunday from 5 to 9 p.m. with recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church on Monday at 10 a.m. with burial to follow at Valley Public Cemetery.
