WATSONVILLE — Carmina Espinoza died peacefully at her home in Watsonville on Sunday, April 28, 2013, surrounded by all her loved ones. She was 86.

Mrs. Espinoza was born in Huntington Beach to Aurelia and Leonardo Pantoja on Jan. 19, 1927. In December of 1940, she married Joe Espinoza, raised three daughters, and stayed married for 72 years.

Mrs. Espinoza loved music, whether it be singing or dancing to it. In fact, every Sunday, Mrs. Espinoza and her husband could be found at Casa de Fruta dancing the night away with friends and family. Mrs. Espinoza was known as “Nana” to everyone who she came across. She was an amazing cook and also enjoyed sewing, arranging flowers and painting. Above all, she loved to spoil her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Espinoza is survived by her daughters, Mary Lou Navarro, Josie Diaz (Dean), and Maria Elena Vasquez (Victor); her siblings, John Pantoja, Ted Pantoja and Margaret Lara; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel on Sunday from 5-9 p.m. with a recitation of the Rosary at 5:30 p.m. Mass will be held at Valley Catholic Church on Monday at 1 p.m. with burial to follow at Valley Public Cemetery.
