Walter Grass

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho Walter Hanson Grass of Idaho Falls, Idaho, died on Thursday, April 25, 2013. He was 90.

Mr. Grass was born on Dec. 7, 1922, in Fort Bragg to Andrew Hugo Grass and Annie Marie Hanson Grass. He graduated from Leggit Valley High School in Leggitt. He served in the U.S. Army as a sergeant during World War II. From 1943 to 1945, he served with the 727th Amphibious Tank Battalion in the Pacific Theater. On June 13, 1946, he married LuEtta Ruby Hansen in Reno, Nev. He worked as a truck driver, logger and mechanic.

Mr. Grass is survived by his sons, Raymond (Mary Ellen) Grass of Beavercreek, Ohio, Darrell Grass of Idaho Falls, Michael (Becki) Grass of San Diego and Gary Grass of Shelley; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Bessie Gaither and Laverne King. He was preceded in death by his wife, LuEtta, in 2001.
