Carmina Espinoza passed away peacefully at her home in Watsonville on April 28, 2013 at the age of 86, surrounded by all her loved ones. Mrs. Espinoza was born in Huntington Beach, California to Aurelia and Leonardo Pantoja on January 19, 1927. In December of 1940, she married Joe Espinoza, raised three beautiful daughters, and stayed married for 72 years.

Carmina was known as “Nana” to everyone who she came across. Nana’s house was always open and full of wonderful food, as she was an amazing cook. Carmina also enjoyed sewing, arranging flowers, and painting. Above all, she loved to spoil her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Espinoza is survived by her daughters, Mary Lou Navarro, Josie Diaz (Dean), and Maria Elena Vasquez (Victor); her siblings John Pantoja, Ted Pantoja, and Margaret Lara; her grandchildren Joseph Navarro, Jesse Navarro, Michael Navarro, Magda Gomez, Robert Diaz, Rene Diaz, Victor Vasquez Jr., and Emanuel Vasquez; and her great grandchildren Alyssa & Curtis Gomez, Dominic Vasquez, Sara & Kathleen Navarro, Tiffany & Felecia Navarro, and Giselle Diaz.
