AROMAS — Joann N. LeMond, resident of Aromas, died in Watsonville on Sunday, March 24, 2013. She was 81.
Mrs. LeMond was born at St. Luke’s Hospital in San Francisco on June 25, 1931, to John Peter Glage and Anna Germolis. For 40 years she worked as an emergency room nurse at Watsonville Community Hospital. She loved animals and had several horses, cats, and dogs. She was an avid rider and participated in, and won, many endurance riding competitions. She passed on this skill to her grandchildren who also went on to compete. Above everything else, she loved her family.
Mrs. LeMond is survived by her husband of 59 years, Peter LeMond; her daughter, Kathy Caprino; her sons, Rodrick and David LeMond; her brother, Tom Glage; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one grandson.

A committal service will be held today at 12:30 p.m. at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, 32053 W. McCabe Rd., Gustine, CA. Arrangements were entrusted to Mehl’s Colonial Chapel.
