PARADISE — Marino Rossi died on Monday, January 14, 2013 at Hospice House in Paradise. He was 90.
Mr. Rossi was born to Casimiro and Alaide Rossi in San Francisco on March 18, 1922. He attended schools in Pescadero, California and played soccer in high school. He lived with his parents and brothers in Pescadero at the Cascade Ranch. He moved to Santa Cruz and married Margaret Vaninetti in 1952. He worked as a mechanic at the ranch, Peterson Tractor formerly Cornell Tractor, George H. Wilson, and Granite Construction. He also opened a Firestone repair and retail store. His final job was with Santa Cruz Aggregates until retirement. Then he and his wife moved to Paradise.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Rossi; children, Marsha (Joe) Marsano, Mark (Linda) Rossi, and Marla (Kevin) Meek; five grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Rudolph and Gino Rossi.
A visitation will be held at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel in Watsonville today from 12-1 p.m. with a chapel service at 1 p.m. and burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Santa Cruz.
