WATSONVILLE ó Ceferino D. Pizarro died at his home in Watsonville surrounded by his family on Thursday, January 10, 2013. He was 76.
Born in the Philippines, Mr. Pizarro lived in Watsonville since 1962. He joined the Navy in the early 1960s, and served for four years as a chef. When his service was finished, he worked as an inspector for Firestone in Salinas for 17 years and Sea Gate Electronics for many years. He was a hard working man who took pride in caring for his family and yard. He loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren; sharing his love for cooking at many family barbeques. He also loved to play golf.
Mr. Pizarro is survived by his wife of 51 years, Virginia Pizarro of Watsonville; daughters, Becky (Grant) Lineham of Watsonville and Susie (Mark) Clark of Salinas; siblings, Tony (Pricilla) of San Diego, Aida of the Philippines and Auring (Eddie) of Las Vegas; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Sammy Pizarro.
Visitation will be held today at Mehlís Colonial Chapel 5-9 p.m. Services will be held Wednesday at the All Saints Episcopal Church, 437 Rogers Ave. Watsonville, at 11 a.m. Private graveside services will be held at the San Juan District Cemetery at a later date.
