FREEDOM ó Marjory Helen Overson, resident of Freedom, died on Thursday, January 3, 2013. She was 91.
Mrs. Overson was born in Weldona, Colo. on Sept. 16, 1921, to Albert and Grace Hayes. She came to California when she was 5 years old. During WWII she worked as a truck driver for Fort Ord. She then became a beautician and owned her own beauty shop for many years. She also worked for the Register-Pajaronian as a clerk and as a route driver delivering papers for more than 20 years. Mrs. Overson was very kind-hearted and loved animals, especially her cat, Cassie. She also loved to knit, crochet, and solve crossword puzzles.
Mrs. Overson is survived by her son, Virgil (Irene) Duncan; daughter, Sharon (Jerry) Kaysinger; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Clarence L. Overson; son, Larry Duncan; and siblings, Albert Hayes, Gladys Belcher, Mike Ortner, Ruth Raffety and Emma Lowder.
At this time no services are being held. Arrangements were entrusted to Mehlís Colonial Chapel.
