Beverly Kelley

PLEASANT VALLEY — Beverly Ardeth Kelley (nee Silva), wife of former Santa Cruz County Clerk and Recorder Tom Kelley, died peacefully on Wednesday, December 26, 2012, surrounded by family and friends. She was 82.

Mrs. Kelley was a lifetime resident of Pleasant Valley. She was born Sept. 4, 1930 to George and Elsie King Silva. She grew up in Corralitos, attending Pleasant Valley Elementary School and graduating with the Watsonville High School Class of 1948. As a young woman she worked at Ford’s Department store and attended Smith’s Business School and Hartnell College. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom; and her brother, Ed (George) Silva. She is survived by her daughter, Karell Kelley Reader and son-in-law, Phillip Leroy Reader.

Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Friday at 11 a.m. at Holy Eucharist Catholic Church, 527 Corralitos Road, Corralitos, with committal and entombment to follow in the Pajaro Valley Memorial Park Mausoleum, 127 Hecker Pass Road, Watsonville, CA 95076. The family suggests memorial tributes be express to Holy Eucharist Catholic Church or the Santa Cruz County Fair. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Patrick and Debbie Carroll, Ave Maria Memorial Chapel.
