WATSONVILLE — Maria Luisa Barcelo Guerrero died peacefully at her home in Watsonville surrounded by her family on Saturday, October 6, 2012. She was 63.
Mrs. Barcelo Guerrero was born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, but moved to the Watsonville area in 1976. She was a strong, hardworking and caring woman who loved to spend time with her whole family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to cook and attend church at Templo Bethania in Pajaro.
Mrs. Barcelo Guerrero is survived by her husband of 47 years, Benito Barcelo of Watsonville; sons, Jose (Diana Espino) Barcelo, Arturo Barcelo, Beny (Maria) Barcelo and Abraham Barcelo, all of Watsonville; daughters, Lorena (Jesse) Melendrez, Ana (Felix Villegas) Barcelo and Sandra (Jake Rivas) Barcelo, all of Watsonville; mother, Anita of Merced; sisters, Teresa Guerrero and Diana (Damazo) Mejia, both of Merced and Leticia (Rafael) Millan of Livingston; and 17 grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel tonight at 7 p.m. with a visitation 5-9 p.m. Further time of visitation will be held tomorrow 9-10:30 a.m. with burial to follow at 11 a.m. at Valley Public Cemetery.
