WATSONVILLE — Maria Teresa Marquez, resident of Watsonville, died at her home on Friday, August 3, 2012. She was 76.
Mrs. Marquez was born in Salina, Mexico on March 6, 1936 to Ignacio Hernandez and Francisca Marquez. She moved to the Santa Cruz County area 24 years ago. She enjoyed praying and was an active member and volunteer at St. Patrick’s Church. She was a very loving grandmother, loved to spend time with her family, and loved to entertain and cook for family and friends.
Mrs. Marquez is survived by her husband, Refugio Marquez; sons, Refugio Jr., Lorenzo, and Gabriel Marquez all of Watsonville; daughters, Beatriz Marquez, Erika Gonzalez, Tita Grijalba, and Rosa Elena Martin; five brothers, two sisters, 24 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at St. Patrick’s Church on Monday from 5-9 p.m. with a recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 a.m. with burial to follow at Valley Public Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Mehl’s Colonial Chapel.
