HOLLISTER — Eugenio Blas Cardenas died Thursday, July 26, 2012, surrounded by his family. He was 75.
Mr. Cardenas was born and raised in Brawley. He last worked for the Pajaro Valley Unified School District, Grounds and Maintenance Department from 1976 until his retirement in 1998. He will be remembered for his dedication to his work and his great sense of humor. He was a Minnesota Vikings football fan.
Mr. Cardenas is survived by his sister, Andrea (Gene) Arballo of Hollister; two daughters, Katie (Leo) Limas of Watsonville, Lisa (James) Strom of Gilroy; two sons, Robert (Donna) Cardenas and Richard Cardenas of Gilroy; two stepsons, Victor (Emily) Balli, Art Ramirez; stepdaughter, Margaret Valle of Watsonville; five grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and a childhood friend, Carmelita Ramirez Martinez.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. at the Calvary Cemetery, 1100 Hillcrest Rd., Hollister, on Friday.
