SANTA CRUZ — Joaquina “Bunny” Sadlier died peacefully on Monday, June 25, 2012, in Santa Cruz. She was 83.
She was born to the late Alwyn and Lillian Fox, on Dec. 8, 1928, in Denver, Colo. Mrs. Sadlier grew up in Sacramento and graduated from Merian Webster High School in 1946. While attending San Jose State College in 1947 as an art major, she met and married the late Jack Marinovich in 1947 and settled in Watsonville.
Naturally artistic, she excelled at interior and landscape design. Her sense of style led her to become the proprietor of The Leather Loft, a fur and leather boutique, in Aptos and Carmel.
Mrs. Sadlier retired to Truckee near her beloved Lake Tahoe in 2000. She traveled the world with Princess Cruises; and gardening, snowshoeing, hiking, and her Scottie, “Angus,” became her passions.
She is survived by her brother, Alwyn “Sonny” (Mary) Fox Jr.; her two children, Craig Marinovich, Dee Ann Hartzell; her husband, Rob; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a nephew and three nieces.
At her request, no service will be held. The family is requesting that donations may be sent to League to Save Lake Tahoe. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mehl’s Colonial Chapel.
