Alice Mae Manger

Alice Mae Manger passed away on June 8th at the age of 92. Born in Los Angeles to George and Bertha Bradford, she lived in Watsonville for 55 years and was known as “Gram”. She was a member of the Women’s Bowling Assoc. and won many 200- 235 bowling pins. She loved restoring furniture, crocheting, dump diving, gardening (especially cactus), pie baking and collecting driftwood. She loved her 1972 VW Baja Special.

Alice is survived by her children Robert(Naomi) Manger and Carol Shallenberger – Watsonville; three grandchildren Tod Shallenberger, Christina Manger Rodriguez and Traycee Manger Alane; and six great-grandchildren Myoko, Aiko and Olivia Shallenberger and Jacob, Ben and Emma Rodriguez; a step-great-grandchild Kira Eccleston and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her Husband of 61 years, Robert James Manger in 1997; and her brothers George and Floyd Bradford

Brought home and cared for by family and very special caregivers. We wish to thank each and everyone and to all of the hospice agents. She will be greatly missed.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday June 21st at 11:00 AM at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made in her honor to Hospice of Santa Cruz County or the Grey Bears.

Ave Maria Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.
