WATSONVILLE — George Frank Quilici died on Thursday, May 31, 2012, at his home in Watsonville. He was 107.
He was born in San Francisco on April 26, 1905, in the Hunter’s Point area of the city. The oldest of five children, his family survived the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. Mr. Quilici lived there until 1967 when he moved to Watsonville. In San Francisco he had worked as an auto mechanic before becoming a milkman, delivering milk to the residents there. He loved horses and any occasion that brought his family together, especially the holidays.
Mr. Quilici outlived all his siblings. He leaves his son, John, of Brentwood, two daughters, Rita Benetti of Lincoln and Janice Bailey of Arnold, 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. today with a recitation of the rosary at 6 p.m. at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel. Graveside services will be Friday, 11 a.m., at the Italian Cemetery, 540 F Street, Colma, CA 94014.
