Rafael Cendejas Martinez, longtime resident of Watsonville, died on April 3, 2012 at age 42.
Mr. Cendejas Martinez loved his family and was a wonderful father to his youngest sons. He found most of his joy in taking the boys to play soccer and was very involved in keeping them active in BMX dirt biking. He was an excellent classical Spanish guitarist and he could be found creating music and playing guitar for hours. Mr. Cendejas Martinez was passionate about learning and was continuously educating himself. He was a Cisco Certified Network Technician and recently completed a course to become a licensed contractor. He had an incredible work ethic and could do anything he set out to accomplish. He was always smiling and was always ready to help anyone who asked.
Mr. Cendejas Martinez is survived by his children, Alex Correa, Jesus and Rafael Cendejas Jr.; parents, Guillermo and Mauricia Cendejas; sisters, Cathy Felix, Juanita Retana, and Ana Cendejas; and brother Jesus “Chuy” Cendejas.
A visitation will be held at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel on Tuesday from 3-9 p.m. with a recitation of the Rosary at 6 p.m. A Mass will be held at Assumption Church on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with burial to follow at Valley Public Cemetery.
