Ronald Allen Vienola passed away peacefully on January 12, 2011 after a lengthy battle with Diabetes with his family and friends at his bedside. He was 64.
Ron was born in Juneau, Alaska to Oscar & Ruth Vienola and moved to Watsonville when he was very young. After he graduated he enlisted in the United States Navy. He served from 1964-1970 on the USS St. Paul (CA73) and served two tours in Vietnam. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 121 in Watsonville. Ron drove a truck for many years and worked for Lipton and West Marine. He enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time with his family.
Ron is survived by his children Michael Vienola and Laura (Scott) Haney; his mother Ruth Vienola; his sisters Betty Rosser and Ann (Jerry) Ernst; 5 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Oscar Vienola, and his grandparents, Emil & Helen Vienola.
In lieu of flowers donations may be in Ronís memory to Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 Lawrence Ave., Watsonville, CA 95076 or to the VA Monterey Clinic, 3401 Engineer Lane, Seaside, CA†93955.
A Memorial Service celebrating Ronís life will be held at Mehlís Colonial Chapel on Monday, January 23rd at 11 A.M. Per Ronís request his remains will be scattered at sea in Moss Landing.
