Boy’s Volleyball

Watsonville High lost to Seaside High in four sets in a Monterey Bay League match up Tuesday at Watsonville High.

The Wildcatz play at Carmel Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

College Baseball

The Cabrillo College Seahawks took down the Gavilan College Rams 7-5 to clinch their back-to-back Coast Conference Pacific title Tuesday at Gavilan College.

Ryan Capozza was the winning pitcher going six innings and allowing three hits, two runs and five walks, while striking out five.

Tyson Renowd got the save.

Matthew Vald was 2-of-5 with two RBIs and two scored runs.

Cabrillo plays at West Valley Thursday to close out the regular season, before beginning the playoffs on May 2.

The Seahawks (21-14, 18-5) will host their first round opponent.

Prep. Baseball

The St. Francis Central Coast Catholic Sharks beat the Aptos Mariners 9-4 in Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League play Tuesday at Aptos High School.

The Sharks (13-5, 5-3) are right in the thick of the SCCAL title chase and Aptos (8-9, 4-4) might be on the outside looking in with four games left.

St. Francis plays Pinewood Thursday at 4 p.m. and Aptos hosts Harbor Friday at 4 p.m.

Tennis

The Monte Vista Christian tennis team lost 5-2 to the San Benito Haybalers Tuesday in Monterey Bay League action.

No. 2 doubles team of Miguel Lim and Andy Zheng and No. 3 doubles team of Jacky Hsu and Oscar Chang both won their matches.
