CASTROVILLE — Danielle Acuna said she spent extra time training during the offseason in hopes of getting the Condors to the postseason.
While the Condors were ultimately denied a trip to the dance, the coaches in the Monterey Bay League’s Pacific Division didn’t overlook Acuna’s efforts on the field.
The North Monterey County High soccer forward was named the MBL Pacific Division Most Valuable Player earlier this month.
Acuna scored 21 goals in her final season with the Condors, who finished 7-4-1 in the division and 9-8-2 overall.
She peppered goalkeepers constantly, getting 40 shots on goal total.
“It feels good because I worked hard all season,” Acuna said.
