WATSONVILLE — The county’s fantastic four in basketball will continue their season Wednesday as the road to the state championship begins.

The CIF Northern California tournament begins in all divisions for boys and girls. New this year is the open division, a division that will give an opportunity for some of the best teams to compete among the best.

The four county teams won’t have to worry about that, as they were placed in their own divisions to start.

All games are scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Of the four basketball teams, St. Francis Central Coast Catholic High’s girls squad is lone team going in as a Central Coast Section champion.

The Sharks, winners of the CCS Division V title, will play host to Turlock Christian on Wednesday.
