In a news conference Tuesday, Gilroy boxer Robert Guerrero said he is ready for his fight Saturday against Andre Berto.
The two will square off at Citizens Bank Arena in Ontario for the interim WBC Welterweight Championship.
“It’s time to fight,” Guerrero said. “I’m ready to fight and take care of business on Nov. 24.”
The fight is Guerrero’s first since July 28, when he defeated Selcuk Aydin by unanimous decision to win the championship. Guerrero (30-1-1) has fought just once this year as he sat out for the first half of 2012 to nurse an injury.
Berto is 22-1, having won five of his last six fights.
“I had a tremendous training camp, and I’m in the best shape that I’ve been in, in a long time,” he said. “I’m focused, and I think that’s the most important thing.”
