The Aptos High girls volleyball team is back in the Central Coast Section Division III semifinals after outlasting San Mateo in three games on Saturday night.
The Mariners prevailed 25-22, 25-15, 25-22.
With the win, Aptos will travel to Sacred Heart Cathedral in the semifinals on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. Sacred Heart Cathedral, the No. 2 seed in the tournament, swept Saratoga on Saturday night.
• Harker 3, Soquel 2: At Soquel, the Knights, the defending CCS Division IV champions, were eliminated in five games 23-25, 21-25, 26-24, 28-26, 15-13.
Middle blocker Sarah Savoca injured her ankle in the fourth game and was unable to continue.
The Knights finished the season 22-10.
• Harbor 3, Mercy of San Francisco 0: At Harbor, the Pirates advanced to the CCS Division IV semifinals with a 28, 26-, 25-11, 25-14 victory over the Skippers.
Harbor is back in the semifinals for the first time since 2008, when it got all the way to the finals.
The top-seeded Pirates will face Harker on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at Menlo in Atherton.
• Castilleja 3, Anzar 2: At Castilleja in San Jose, the Hawks were eliminated 19-25, 23-25, 25-19, 25-20, 15-13 in the quarterfinals of the CCS Division V tournament.
Anzar finished the season 23-6.
• Notre Dame 3, Pacific Collegiate 0: At Notre Dame, the perennial volleyball power from Salinas eliminated the Pumas 25-13, 25-15, 25-12 in the CCS Division V quarterfinals.
Notre Dame has won all of its girls volleyball championships in Division IV. However, it is a Division V team this year because of its small enrollment.
The Pumas finished the season 23-4.

Water polo
Soquel: The Knights’ water polo teams had mixed results in the CCS playoffs on Saturday.
The boys team is still alive after edging out Valley Christian 11-9. With the win, the fourth-seeded Knights will take on top-seeded Sacred Heart Prep on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at Serra High in San Mateo.
Sacred Heart Prep disposed of Burlingame 18-0 in its quarterfinal contest.
Soquel’s girls team saw its season come to an end at the hands of Castilleja, as it lost 10-1. The Knights ended the season 24-4.
