The Aptos High football team held off Scotts Valley for a 36-21 win on Friday night as it stayed unbeaten in Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League play.
With the win, the Mariners improved to 3-0 in league. They are 4-2 overall. They have not lost since traveling to Oakdale in early September.
The Mariners had to rally to get the win. They trailed 14-8 against the Falcons before roaring back to take an eight-point lead at half time. From there, the defense didn’t allow another point to Scotts Valley.
Aptos hasn’t lost a league game since Oct. 16, 2010 at San Lorenzo Valley, a span of 12 games.
The Mariners head to Soquel for a showdown with the Knights next week.
