Soquel rallies to beat SV

The Soquel High football team improved to 5-1 this season by rallying to defeat Scotts Valley 33-24 on Saturday afternoon in Scotts Valley.

The win was Soquel High’s third in a row.

The Knights are the third team in Santa Cruz County to get to five wins, the others being Monte Vista Christian (5-0) and San Lorenzo Valley (5-1).

Lucas Cordoza threw a three-yard touchdown with less than 10 seconds to go to seal the game.

Fabiano Hale improved his touchdown total to 19 on the season; he’s easily within reach of the 24-touchdown mark he had last season.

Soquel will have two weeks to get ready for its showdown with Aptos; the Knights have a bye this week.
