CASTROVILLE - Isaiah Garcia wore Superman socks, going with the superhero homecoming theme at North Monterey County High School.

With the Condors staring at a deficit twice in the fourth quarter Saturday afternoon against Watsonville, Garcia delivered like he was Superman.

Garcia scored the game-winning touchdown with three seconds to play, and the Condors defeated Watsonville 28-26 to improve to 3-2 overall and 1-1 in Monterey Bay League Pacific Division play.

The Condors thought a suffocating 19-play touchdown drive with 3:11 to play in the game was enough to shut down Watsonville. The Wildcatz didn't fold, getting a touchdown in 75 seconds when Eddie Mares found Michael Barcelo for a 50-yard score on fourth down.

Mares scrambled to find someone open and threw a short toss to Barcelo, who went down the open left sideline. All of a sudden, North Monterey County defenders raced over there, but Barcelo scooted by all of them and into the end zone. The Wildcatz hooted and hollered at the amazing play and their all-of-a-sudden 26-21 lead.

To get the win, they had to stop the Condors one final time.

Garcia, who was 1 for 5 passing in the first half, tried to pass immediately on the Condors' next drive and it was incomplete.

Garcia's throws were off for the most part. But his running was on point. He got four first downs on the drive by running the ball and got the Condors to the 2-yard line with 15 seconds to play. Carlos Anaya's number was called, but he was stopped at the 1-yard line.

Garcia then snuck it in himself for the game-winning touchdown.
