SANTA CRUZ — The Harbor High girls volleyball team is still at the top of the Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League standings.
But for a second consecutive week, it’s had to sweat out a five-game battle from a challenger eager to take them down.
This time, it was Aptos High who rode an emotional roller coaster through three games to put Harbor on the brink. The Pirates answered back and prevailed 25-13, 20-25, 25-27, 25-13, 15-13.
With the win, Harbor remained undefeated in SCCAL play at 8-0.
Aptos’ seven-match winning streak came to an end. It’s the team’s first league loss since an 0-2 start to league play.
