Soquel High grad Casey McGehee hasn't played much since being traded to the New York Yankees, but he contributed in a big way in his latest outing on Saturday.
McGehee hit a three-run home run that proved to be the difference as the Yankees defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 5-2 at Rogers Centre in Toronto.
It's McGehee's first home run with the club. He hit a 1-1 pitch off of Toronto's Aaron Laffey and deposited it into the second deck in centerfield. It gave the Yankees a 4-0 lead in the fourth inning.
The home run was McGehee's ninth of the season; the first eight came with the Pittsburgh Pirates prior to the July 31 trade to the Big Apple.
Saturday was the fourth game McGehee has played with the Yankees. He's reached base in all four games.
