APTOS — Ilija Bozoljac isn’t yet to the finals of the 2012 Comerica Bank Challenger, the place he was last year, and he already considers his tournament run a success.
With one more win, Bozoljac will be back in the finals.
He stayed alive in the tournament with a 7-6 (4), 6-2 win over Michael McClune on Friday evening at center court of the Seascape Sports Club.
The win was Bozoljac’s sixth in a row. Last year, he won four consecutive matches before falling in the championship.
“For me, the most important part is coming back from not playing now that I have a kid,” he said. “I have to play more matches and get victories and get confidence.”
Bozoljac, who recently celebrated his 27th birthday, worked his way through the wildcard rounds before being placed in the main draw.
He was in prime form Friday.
