Former North Salinas High soccer standout Ramiro Corrales will join Major League Soccer’s best in the league’s mid-season showcase.
Corrales was selected to be on the MLS All-Star team, it was announced this past weekend. The All-Stars will face off against European club Chelsea on July 25 at PPL Park in Philadelphia.
He is the only active player in MLS who was around when the league began in 1996.
The defender missed out on being selected to the First XI, the first 11 players selected onto the team.
Commissioner Don Garber chose Corrales as one of his two picks along with Philadelphia Union defender Carlos Valdès.
