The Pajaro Valley Little League majors All-Star team ended its season on a positive note as it defeated Santa Cruz American 13-6 in their final game of the District 39 All-Star tournament.
Pajaro Valley led the whole game. It had a 6-0 lead until Santa Cruz American struck for four runs in the third inning to close the gap to 6-4.
Pajaro Valley responded with two runs in the top of the fourth inning to take an 8-5 advantage.
The winners broke the game open one inning later, as they scored five runs, highlighted by a Jason Kane double that brought home two runs. Tyler Clark and Jason Segura also had RBI hits in the inning.
Antonio McGraw was the winning pitcher, going 3 1-3 innings for the victory. Clark pitched the final 2 2-3 innings to get the save.
Marcos Torres had two hits, including a double. Richard Martinez hit a triple.
McGraw, Conor Bagchee and Christian Segura each hit two singles. Segura tallied two RBIs.
Pajaro Valley finished divisional play 2-2. They’re the third different team in their division to win a game by scoring more than 10 runs.
