The Golden State Warriors are considering moving its NBA Development League franchise to downtown Santa Cruz.
The Santa Cruz City Council is scheduled to talk Tuesday during its weekly council meeting about a proposal for a 3,000-seat facility that would become the new home of the Dakota Wizards.
The Wizards have played in Bismarck, N.D., for the past 17 seasons. The Warriors purchased the team almost a year ago, becoming one of four NBA franchises to own a D-League team.
If the team moves to Santa Cruz, it would be the third D-League team based in California, the others being the Bakersfield Jam and the Los Angeles D-Fenders.
