California Giant Berry Farms CEO Bill Moncovich and Santa Cruz County Fair director Jody Belgard Akimoto have been named the man and woman of the year by the Pajaro Valley Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture.
The announcement was made Thursday. Both will be honored during the chamber’s annual dinner, which will be held Jan. 29. In addition, the Santa Cruz County Fair Flag Dedication Ceremony was named Event of the Year; Jacob’s Heart Children’s Cancer Association and Watsonville Police Activities League were named Organization of the Year; Freedom Meat Lockers was named Business of the Year and local philanthropists Diane and Don Cooley were selected to receive lifetime achievement honors.
