MOSS LANDING — If a plan by a Moss Landing company comes to fruition, the Central Coast will have its first desalination plant and its first large data center within an estimated two years.

The plan by DeepWater Desal is expected to provide some 25 million gallons per day of fresh water, which will be collected from two pipes drilled under Moss Landing Harbor and through the sea wall 100 feet below the surface of the water of Monterey Canyon.

It will also bring the area’s Internet speeds on par with those of Silicon Valley.
