Modified: Monday, Aug 19th, 2013

WATSONVILLE — A Watsonville woman was arrested Friday after allegedly threatening officers with a knife as they investigated a domestic disturbance, according to the Watsonville Police Department.

Rosalie Camany, 56, was booked into Santa Cruz County Jail on $25,000 bail and charged with assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest.

Watsonville Police officers were dispatched to an apartment complex on the 500 block of Rodriguez Street at 3:15 p.m. for a report of a family disturbance.

The investigating officers learned that Camany, a family member, was responsible for causing the disturbance, and as they were escorting her out of the residence, she grabbed a large kitchen knife and held it up above her head towards the officers.

Officer Efren Martinez grabbed Camany’s arm and knocked the knife out of her hand, while Officers Scott Mead and Juan Sanchez took her into custody. Neither the officers nor the suspect were injured.
