WATSONVILLE — The newly remodeled McDonald’s at 1459 Main St. in Watsonville was the site of a grand re-opening on Thursday, where members of the community, local elected officials, members of the McDonald’s corporate family and Ronald McDonald himself made an appearance.

Meanwhile, Tila Guerrero, owner of both the Main Street and Freedom Boulevard McDonald’s restaurants, said the Freedom Boulevard restaurant is also scheduled for a complete revamping.

Plans are to demolish the existing building at 1598 Freedom Blvd. and rebuild the restaurant during the first quarter of 2014.

Guerrero was joined by her son, owner/operator Martin Guerrero, Watsonville Mayor Lowell Hurst, Assemblyman Luis Alejo, Pajaro Valley Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture chairman of the board, Katie Mahan, McDonald’s restaurant general manager, Ana Alanis and administrative assistant, Lupe Zepeda at the ribbon cutting.
