WATSONVILLE — Sal Zavala is a restaurateur with a vision for a new Watsonville eatery that serves local seafood dishes.

Set to open within a month, the Fish House Bar and Grill at 972 Main St. will take residence in the building formerly occupied by Green Valley Grill.

The building was once home to Lorraine’s Packing Shed, and has also housed a burrito restaurant.

“It’s almost ready,” Zavala said. “Hopefully we can open within the month.”

With nearly all his permits in place and the restaurant ready to swing open its doors, Zavala is waiting for his liquor permit, which will be discussed at the April 2 Planning Commission meeting.
