SANTA CRUZ — The Santa Cruz Police Department is looking for a man suspected of trying to lure an 11-year-old boy into his vehicle in Santa Cruz Monday afternoon.
According to police, the boy was walking in the 800 block of Walnut Street approximately 4:10 p.m. when an unknown male pulled up in a gray Toyota Tundra and asked the boy if he wanted a ride.
The man then repeatedly ordered the boy into the vehicle, but the boy refused and ran to a nearby residence and called 911, police said.
The boy was not physically injured.
The suspect is described as a white male, 40-50 years old, approximately 5 feet, 11 inches. He is about 200 pounds, has black and silver hair, a mustache, and was wearing dark sunglasses.
The vehicle is described as an an early 2000 year model medium gray, 4-door, Toyota Tundra. The vehicle appeared to be faded and dirty. The vehicle was last seen in an unknown direction on Walnut Street.
