Green Day tickets expected to sell out quickly

SANTA CRUZ — Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. for punk band Green Day's Dec. 4 concert at the Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium, and with about only 1,700 tickets available, they are expected to sell out fast.

"We've seen shows (sell out) as quickly as half an hour," said Andrea Botsford, Civic supervisor.

Tickets will be sold at www.santacruztickets.com, and Botsford recommends that those interested in purchasing tickets create an account on the website before Friday.

Tickets for the concert, open to all ages, cost $52-$57.50. With every ticket purchased, buyers will receive a standard digital copy of Green Day's new "‘Uno!" album, a $9.99 value.

The trio is set to release three albums during the next five months, called “‘Uno!,” Dos!” and “Tre!” The band announced its tour dates Monday, placing an emphasis on performing at smaller venues.
