WATSONVILLE — Patrick Lee, who has spent more than two decades as a teacher and principal at St. John Bosco High School in Southern California, has taken the reins as principal and president at St. Francis Central Coast Catholic High School.
He took over for Keith Matthews, who held the position for seven years.
Lee, 46, said he didn’t know his career path would lead him to education and ultimately to the position at the school in Watsonville.
Believing his technical skills would propel him to follow in the footsteps of his engineer brother, Lee first majored in engineering at Long Beach State University.
But two years into his studies, he said he had a change of heart.
“I liked math and science, but I wasn’t motivated,” he said.
