Business robbed at gunpoint

WATSONVILLE — Two masked men robbed a Watsonville business at gunpoint late Wednesday night.

The men reportedly walked into La Santa Cruz Bakery, 716 East Lake Ave. at 10:30 p.m. with their faces covered with ski masks, said Watsonville Police Master Officer Bill Barrett.

One of the men pointed a handgun at the female clerk and a male customer. One suspect approached the female cashier and demanded cash in Spanish. The other suspect pointed a pistol at the male customer.

The suspect with the cashier took an undetermined amount of cash and both suspects fled the store on foot east toward Tuttle Avenue. An extensive search of the area was conducted and no suspects were located.

There were no injuries during this incident.
