MOUNT MADONNA — Heavily armed sheriff's deputies from Santa Clara and Santa Cruz counties are searching for suspects Thursday involved in a shooting earlier in the day.
Deputies were investigating a marijuana grow Thursday morning. Dispatchers said gunfire came from Santa Clara County deputies. The California Highway Patrol is also involved in the search.
Several of the searchers, in camouflage and face paint, were taking a break Thursday at 4:30 p.m. on Highway 152, near the entrance to Mount Madonna County Park. They declined to answer questions about the search.
