SANTA CRUZ — A man suffered moderate injuries when the cement truck he was driving rolled over on Highway 1 north of the Morrissey Boulevard Monday morning.
Santa Cruz City and Central Fire units responded to the scene at 9:13 a.m. Prior to fire crew arrival, American Medical Response paramedics advised that the driver was trapped inside the truck and a fuel leak was starting. Fire crews used the Jaws of Life to free the trapped driver, which took 30 minutes, according to the fire department.
The driver was flown to a trauma center in San Jose for moderate injuries.
