Monterey County Sheriff’s investigators have linked a March 3 mass shooting in King City to the Feb. 4 killing of two cousins in Soledad.

Law enforcement officials recently served search warrants related to both incidents.

On March 3, 11 people were shot at a birthday party on the 200 block of Second Street in King City. Four of them were killed, while seven were injured.

Investigators have linked that incident to a Feb. 4 incident in Soledad where two cousins were shot and killed on Los Coches Road.

During the investigation, more than 50 search warrants have been served.

Additionally, on the morning of April 18, agencies from King City Police, Monterey County Sheriff’s Office and other allied agencies issued more search warrants on the 200 block of 6th Street and the 3000 block of 11th Street in Greenfield.

There have been several related arrests related to these crimes as investigators look into the murders, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Several people of interest have been identified, and all leads are being investigated.

“While we can confirm the suspects in this case have gang connections, the Sheriff’s Office cannot stress enough the innocence of all victims,”  the Sheriff’s Office said. “The public’s help has been instrumental in making these connections.”

The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information is asked to call Monterey County Detective Arras Wilson at 759.7203, King City Sgt. Partida 537.8415 or Det. Sgt. Nicholas Kennedy at 755.3773.
