Cabrillo struggling to make $5 million more in cuts
Posted: Wednesday, Dec 10th, 2008

Cabrillo College’s board of trustees approved a framework Monday night for determining how it will make the $5 million in cuts it anticipates for its 2009-10 fiscal year due to the state budget crisis.

This marks the third straight year that the college has faced significant state budget challenges. The board also approved the college’s mandatory proposed set aside of $4 million in anticipation of potential 2008-09 mid-year cuts. Last year, Cabrillo was forced to cut $400,000 mid-year, which makes the three-year budget reduction total $9,400,000, according to a press release.
