Carey N. Tripp died unexpectedly Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at his Watsonville home. He was 69.
A native of Vilas, Kansas, Mr. Tripp lived in Watsonville since 1956. A U.S. Army veteran, he worked as a railroad engineer for 20 years for ICG and Southern Pacific. After retiring, Mr. Tripp was employed by Marino’s Automotive Machine Shop in Freedom. He was a member of SIRS and enjoyed fishing, gardening, playing the guitar and “treasure hunting” with his metal detector.
Mr. Tripp is survived by his daughter, Rhonda Tripp of Watsonville; son, Carey Dale Trip of Watsonville; and sister, Donna Stoll of Kansas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Tripp.
A private memorial will be held. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Mehl’s Colonial Chapel.
