Santa Cruz man arrested for issuing terrorist threats in county office
Posted: Friday, Apr 11th, 2008

Hugo Albores-Bucio, 23, of Santa Cruz, was arrested Wednesday afternoon on charges that he walked into the Santa Cruz County auditor’s office and told employees he had a gun.

Albores-Bucio was arrested for making terrorist threats, according to a press release from the Santa Cruz Police Department.

Police officers and sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the County Government Center at 701 Ocean St. about 1:20 p.m. Wednesday on a report of a suspect with a gun, police stated.

Once Albores-Bucio was detained outside of the government building, and after searching him and the immediate area, police found that he did not have a gun, but his actions and comments inside led office employees to believe he had a gun and was going to use it, Santa Cruz police said.

He was taken to the Santa Cruz County Jail.
